Parasailing

I would suggest that if you plan to parasail, don't do it from the beach. Go to an excursion company so you take off from a boat and land back on the boat. We saw a couple do a tandem from the beach, and as they were running in the sand, the girl fell and the guy tried to help her up. They managed to make it off the ground about 50 feet and the line disconnected from the parachute and the boat, causing them to fall 50 feet into the water. They were carrying their camcorder, so that got destroyed and the operators suddenly couldn't speak English. This would have been enough to ruin any vacation.

This was a lot of fun. We took a jet ski through what looked like a mini jungle. We followed the lagoon out into the ocean where we all tied up together and snorkeled. There were tons of fish of many different colors. We spent about an hour there snorkeling and then drove our jet ski back to the dock. On your way back, they have someone taking you picture and you can purchase it once you return.

You are taken out to the bay and then lifted off a platform. The views of the mangroves and the bay are unbelievable. The trip lasted around 15 minutes, but it was well worth it.

We bought from the travel agent at our resort. Neither of us had ever done this. In fact, my husband has always feared the ocean. We had so much fun. One of the first fish we encountered was a sand shark! Instead of swimming away from it, Mike decided to go in for a closer look! The length of time was just perfect, about 1.5 to 2 hours (in the water). Transportation, gear rental, bottled water, and lunch was included in the price. We have decided to plan our next vacation around snorkeling!

Aqua World's Day Trip to Cozumel

We took Aqua World's day trip from Cancun to the island of Cozumel. It was fantastic. We arrived early in the morning and took an hour bus ride to Playa del Carmen, where be caught a ferry to Cozumel. It was great to see some of the "non-tourist" areas of Mexico. All of our food and drink were provided (breakfast and lunch). There were three activities to choose from once we arrived to Cozumel: snorkeling, scuba diving, or an hour trip in a "sea-sub." Because we had our 6-month-old son with us, we chose the sea-sub. The coral reefs and the marine life were awesome! At the end of the day, we were given some time to shop in the town of Cozumel. There are a lot of jewelry shops there as well as souvenirs. I would recommend any of Aqua World's tours and activities. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
