Dancing on the Bar at the Bowling Alley

  • July 6, 2004
  • Rated 4 of 5 by ShannonLane from Zachary, Louisiana
The Rock and Bowl is the essence of New Orleans local nightlife. It's a bowling alley. It's a bar. It's a dance hall. A live band (usually zydeco music) plays nightly while patrons drink, bowl, and cut a rug. Even if your partner doesn't dance or you come alone, you will find someone to twist the night away with.

The Rock and Bowl is a bowling alley that has live bands. Each night is a different type of music, so you can check listings for your favorite type of music.

This is a great place to see 'real' local acts. You can bowl from noon on, and there is plenty to chose from on the menu should you feel the need for some grease. As the night gets going the locals come out to dance and have fun. Don't tell them I sent you.
