Historic Jamestowne

Historic Jamestowne

Not the best place to go when it's extremely hot (which we did) but still a ton of fun. Watch re-enactors make arrowheads and tan hides, blow glass, and work on replicas of the 3 ships that arrived there. Visit the church and learn about the role of religion in the first Settlement, tour the fort where John Smith met Pocahontas and more. The visitors center has a huge gift shop, a nice cafeteria and some incredible exhibits. Movies the kids will enjoy are shown there too.

Kidsburg Park

Heading out of Williamsburg on Monticello Avenue, across from the shopping center with Ukrops, there is a community park called Kidsburg. It consists of the normal park amenities, such as tennis and basketball courts, but it also has a playground area built by locals and local businesses. The park consists of various play structure made out of mostly wood and tires. If you want an economical (free!) and fun place to let your kids and you blow off some extra energy, try it out.
