our design was not terribly demanding: a fairly private moonlit walk on the beach with few distractions. we lucked out because there was a full moon that night and nearly no one in sight, so i was able to let the dogs off their leashes to frolic in the surf while i stood guard and made sure we didn't get in too much trouble. after all were exhausted and had ingested enough sea water to suit their fancies, we retired to the house and several hot baths!

the resort has a beautiful golf course that stays sparsely populated until mid-morning (granted, there are a few go-getters who get up early to hit the links before the heat of the day sets in, but generally you can get around without upsetting too many concentrating putters). so we took the opportunity to head out for a long walk mostly around the bike paths but occasionally, when the green was clear, we would cut through using the golf cart paths to take full advantage of the lovely green surroundings. we were even able to come nearly face-to-face with a stork that stood nearly my heighth (5') in a creek not 15' from where we were walking.
