Truth be told, it is a wonderful way to spend a summer evening, and see a darn good band for free. After Fugazi got the series some notoriety, it became a place that new bands could elbow in and open up for some of DC's best up-and-comers.
It's a clean, family environment - no booze, no drugs, and no glass bottles. But it's worth suffering through for the free quality music. And it gets little publicity from the local press - you'll be enjoying something few Washingtonians get around to. For details and schedule: Fortreno.
