Twelve of us bowled on three reserved lanes so we received a special price of $4 per person per game that included shoe rental. The usual price is $2.75 per person per game and another $2.75 for shoe rental.
Equipment isn't all that new - bowling balls are colorful, but in some cases, badly dented and very dirty - but unless you've got your eye on the PBA, you probably won't mind.
The food at Bowl America is also very different from places like Strike. Chicken fingers were a fried, guilty pleasure and better than average. Pizza, on the other hand, was cardboard-like and I wouldn't recommend it. French fries are tasty and come in huge, cheap portions. And what goes best with bowling? Beer, of course. Pitchers including Miller Light and Killians are available, all for less than $10 each.
If you're looking for a retro-cool scene, Bowl America will be a let down, but if you have a family group or friends who just don't care about that stuff, check out Bowl America.
This location is easily accessible via Exit 2A/Edsall Road off Rt 395.
