This theatre festival is sweet! The atmosphere is fantastic in this two week event that has before arriving in Amsterdam visited Rotterdam, The Hague, and Utrecht, Netherlands' other three biggest cities.
The Martin Kuter King Park has been taken over by several theatre groups, which offer a very diverse range of shows. Many shows are in Dutch, but there are some shows in English or no spoken word. And it is a great event to visit even if you don't see any show at all. Even walking around the festival site, drinking sangria in the sun, taking a spin in the chairoplane, having some tapas, having a taste of tapas and ejoying the local crowd.
This festival is very popular with the young (of heart) and somewhat arty (or artlovers) of Amsterdam. Check this website for more information (also in English).
You can get here with tramline 25, get out at the endpoint. There are signs that direct you to the entrance (Ingang) of the festival site.
Open from 3pm, but doesn't really start before 6pm. In 2003 till August 17.
