Biking to the vineyards

Originally, there were four of us going off to hire a car and see the vineyards and look at the countryside. Lisa was the only one of us who was allowed to drive as she was 25 and you had to be over 25. Unfortunately the cost of hiring a car was very high (€24 each) so we spent about half an hour trying to find somewhere to rent transport.

We eventually found somewhere to hire four bikes, but Lisa didn't feel like biking the journey, so the rest of us, Reko, Jo and myself, hired three bikes. I hadn't ridden a bike in six years but I regained my confidence as soon as we got into the countryside. We originally took the wrong turning and remained on a fairly big island but no worry, the views were "fantastique"! After an hour of traveling around we headed back to the hostel for a great lunch. Then, we headed off to Chateauneuf de Pape, cycling along the French motorway, which I don't recommend to anyone, but who cares? Where would the adventure be if we hadn't gone along the motorway? We returned after seeing beautiful countryside, tasting great wine, getting a lot of sun, but I have to say that that saddle is going to be part of me for a little while longer. Ouch!
