Description: I was recently in Amsterdam and I wanted to get first insights from Amsterdam and we decided after our arrival to first make a canal tour. Since we are arrived in a coach and we were right on the main train station we have discovered there directly to the canals. So we wanted to make a ride.
The boats are always very well attended, we have a very nice place l so that you could also make very nice photos. Each of these boats has a covered part and an open. Information on the ride to get over loudspeakers (in Dutch, German and English), these voices are to be understood very well what you get to hear is very interesting. Only because everything is told three times in three different languages it does get a bit confusing at times and you have to pay attention. Oh yes each of these boats is equipped with a toilet just in case.
On board you can also buy photo packages of 10 photos will be bought for a price of 2.00 €. What I personally found very nice that is entered before the canal was taken a photo and you could buy this after the trip costs 3.00 €, it is put up in a kind of postcard.
Amsterdam has to offer 100 canals that together produce a length of 100 sqm. A total of 1000 bridges lead over it. During the trip there is plenty to see, you see some houseboats, some of them are very striking and beautiful and some are not. Many are quite legal and there are established with the electricity and gas supply of the city. The tight housing in Amsterdam makes it possible.
Then you come to the Herengracht at that time the canal over where rich merchants lived. Many buildings are really great because they are decorated really nice. What really surprised me was that most of the houses looked really narrow, of these houses were also crane hook and gables of the houses. Because you moved since the furniture through the windows up, because the hallways were too narrow. Through this journey we have been given a good overview of the city and you knew already where some of the main attractions were.
I personally find that a canal boat is worth in any case, because this is a nice city tour. For this you can really look first where is everything you want to view. I thought this canal tour was and could have spent a few hours but there was of course an end to it. The price of this trip is also perfect in the frame when you compare that with many other attractions there.
