The Whitworth Gallery's in-house art book shop - Zwemmer's - has eight shelves packed from floor to near ceiling with the city's biggest selection of art and arts related books.

Titles range from art theory and criticism - to the actual works of individual artists. They stock titles on the traditional painters canon - such as Rubens, Bosch, Goya, Constable, Gaugin and Dali. There are also works relating to contemporary artists and sculptors like Hockney and Henry Moore, plus an accent on the works of regional artists such as Lowry. In addition, the shop sells a plethora of art-inspired gifts including prints, postcards, stationery and coffee mugs.
