Description
This small synagogue is perfect for families with young children. During services, the mechitza (divider between men and women) runs down the middle and some women wear kippot and talitot. On Shabbat, women hold a special reading of the Torah separate from the main service. While the adults pray inside, their children play in the nearby school yard. The congregation is welcoming to guests and it is possible to be invited to a family's house for Shabbat lunch. The synagogue is located directly behind the Effrata school. Friday evening services begin close to offical Shabbat starting times.
