Description
Anyone who finds the Hörnli graveyard too modern and cool should take a trip to Wolf-Gottesacker. There are a few Basel personalities buried in the more than a thousand graves from the second half of the 19th Century, and after the closure of the Kannenfeld cemetery in 1951, a number of graves were transported here. This is why Johann Jakob Bachofen's final resting place can be found here. The surroundings are beautiful, and the marble angels, figures and monuments will appeal to more than cemetery-lovers.
