Virginia Highlands

As an alternative to Buckhead try the Highlands. You tend to find a funkier, whiter crowd but not particularly edgy. You have to venture elsewhere into areas of Midtown, Little Five Points or East Atlanta if you want the truly cool places, but the Highlands is a nice middle ground. When the weather is warm, you can find several places to drink outside and meet lots of people.

Shopping in the Virginia-Highlands

If you want to leisurely stroll from shop to shop and find some unique things, you will enjoy shopping in the Virginia-Highlands (its name comes from the intersection of Virginia and Highland Avenue). You can also grab some coffee at several cafes, some really good food, or some fun at one of several bars.
