Whitcoulls has long been the main player on the New Zealand book retail scene and despite aggressive competition remains an excellent book and stationery supplier. The main store covers two floors and stocks both fiction and non-fiction. Excellent displays promote discounted and new books, and there are sections especially for those books read and recommended by staff. Regular signing sessions and opportunities to hear writers speak are a feature.
