Westport was a great spot for nightclubbing! What could be better than an entire street of just clubs? We started off at The Cactus. It was pretty packed. The scene was very multi-ethnic which we appreciated. The drinks were reasonable. We had a good time sitting outside on the balcony, drinking, talking, and enjoying the scenery. The Cactus closes at 1am so we moseyed on over to America's Pub. Once again another multi-ethnic club. The place was packed and the dance floor was hyped. We spent most of the time on the dance floor. The music wasn't the greatest, but everyone was enjoying themselves anyways. The guys can get a little frisky with the hands so be warned. When the club closes it definitely turns into a meat market with men trying to take you home. Which is pretty normal with packed nightclubs as these.

Westport is the club and bar scene region of Kansas City. It is home to the greatest clubs in the midwest. Westport is just south of downtown. The easiest way to get there is on Main Street from downtown.

Some of the clubs are:
Have A Nice Day Cafe, known nationwide.
America's Pub: typically over 24 crowd, plays a lot of 80's music.
Buzzard Beach: Punk rock scene.
The Hurricane: Has live bands and a seperate dance floor with a dj.
Beaumont Club: Country bar, plays a lot of other music too, a place for everone.
XO Club: Kansas City's greatest dance club, mostly house or techno music. Very large club with 2 sub-clubs inside. This place is a must see for anyone partying in KC.

This is the place where the locals hang out at. Westport is the most culturally diverse spot in all of Kansas City. No one is out of place. Grab a coffee at Starbucks or Westport Coffee. Shop at any of the specialty clothing stores. Good eating establishments abound.
