Unbelievable . . . astounding. What else can I say? A definite must-see, as is St. Paul's. I would suggest taking the Verger Guided Tour which costs about £6, but is well worth it.

The most famous church in London, the Abbey attracts crowds of tourists to view its distinctive architecture as well as the graves of a number of England's royals. The best part for me was the Poet's Corner, where plaques honor the masters of English literature.

This is another "must see" historical sight in London. The Abbey is a living church that enshrines the history of the Britain. It is not considered a museum, but it contains historical information and many things that are worth seeing. Worship is offered in the Abbey every day. The thing that absolutely amazed me is walking around the Abbey, being surrounded by history, touching stones and burial plates that date back to King Edward the first (1239-1307), walking in the footsteps of Benedictine monks who lived in the Monastery, and thinking about the pilgrims that prayed at the Shrine of Saint Edward! The audio tour, available at the information desk, helps somewhat to navigate the different parts of the Abbey and learn some history. However, it was a little hard for us to follow some information, because we weren't familiar in details with all the Kings and Queens in the English history. I would definitely recommend to read a good history book before coming here.

It was a cold, drizzly day in London when we went to visit Westminster Abbey. However, it did not take away from the design and sure history of this building, from the ornate woodwork to the marbled arches. And then you think back to what has happened here and who was here.

All kings and queens are buried in this abbey. As you walk along, you see the different names of royalty and realize you have stepped back in time. The decor is amazing and so ornate that it takes several minutes to stare up and round to soak it all in.

Almost every King or Queen of England over the past 900 years has been crowned in Westminster Abbey. Founded in the 11th century by Edward the Confessor the abbey has always had a strong royal connection, which has been consistent over the centuries. Westminster Abbey contains numerous tombs and memorials of some of Britain's most famous people from history.

The interior of Westminster Abbey is stunning, the main features being: The Nave, The Choir and Sanctuary, Shrine of King and St. Edward the Confessor, Henry VII's Chapel, The South Transept and Poets' Corner and The Cloister and Chapter House.
