Visitors interested in architecture are well advised to take a trip out to Weißer Hirsch, one of Dresden's wealthiest suburbs. Full of stunning 19th century villas, Weißer Hirsch has been home to some of the city's most famous citizens over the decades and is also a prominent health resort. Located on the brow of a steep hill, the district can be reached by taking the cable railway (built in 1895) from Körnerplatz. Hungry visitors should head to Luisenhof restaurant which offers great views over the Elbe valley.
