Description: A Venice of sorts in Bricktown, Oklahoma is a great way to spend a few hours of your day’. This is a water canal that runs though a small section of the city. It is a continual service that is similar to a bus. There are several stops along the Bricktown Riverwalk where the Water Taxi picks up every 10-15 minutes. The whole ride takes about 40 minutes for a round trip ride, and the drivers give a narration the whole time about the city and points of interest. Tickets range in price and are good all day. Adults pay $6.50, 65 and over pay $5.50, and kids 5 and under pay only a $1.00.
For those who don’t want to pay the price you can opt to walk around the Bricktown riverwalk, which follows the same path that the taxi does gives a beautiful view of the canal. Along the way there are several shops and restaurants that the canal passes including Sonic, Rio del Fuego, Earl’s Rib Palace, and Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill, as well as a movie theater.
Surprisingly most locals don’t know what Bricktown is, so if you’re lost and need to ask directions ask to find the Bass Pro Shop. Parking is extremely hard to find, but just park at the Bass Pro Shop and you can either walk from there or pick up the water Taxi in the area.
