Description: Located in the Rattanakosin District adjacent to the Grand Palace, the Temple of the Reclining Buddha is not only home to the eponymous statue, but is also widely regarded as the birthplace of Thai Massage. Among the more than one thousand images of Buddha in the temple (more than any other Wat in Bangkok), the Reclining Buddha himself is a massive, jaw-dropping statue, the largest Buddha in Thailand at 151 feet long, and 50 feet high. The Buddha is covered in gold leaf, with intricate mother-of-pearl decorating his eyes and the soles of his feet.
