Villa Guastavillani

Description

This sumptuous, late 16th century villa was built thanks to the whim of Ottavio Mascherino, and was designed by the architect Tommaso Martelli. The magnificent Italian garden and the elegant facade create a harmony of forms in the complex which takes your breath away. This is due to the Cardinal Filippo Guastavillani who lived here for a long time. The Cardinal's bedrooms was decorated with frescoes by Denijs Calvaert, while other frescoes were carried out by Orazio Samacchini.
