Description
Nestling under the Guia Fort and Lighthouse, this small garden comes alive early in the day, when Chinese martial artists make it their training ground. If you fancy seeing a bit of Jackie Chan action, arrive at about 8am. Groups with swords and staffs, fans and bare hands go through the motions everyone has seen on the big screen. Quietly witnessing the kicks and leaps is the monument to Da Gama, whose claim to fame was leading the first Portuguese fleet round the cape of Africa to India back in the fifteenth century.
