Description
Urasenke is the largest and most well known abroad of Japan's various tea schools. In the five-story premises built in 1979 are a gallery with occasional tea-related exhibitions, a large lecture hall, and the world's largest library devoted to tea including some English volumes on the subject. The library has free admission but there is a fee for the gallery. Many overseas students flock to this mecca to further their progress in the 'way of tea' following the motto of 'Peacefulness in a bowl of tea.'
