Description
Every year, when the Mekong recedes between the rainy seasons, huge sand islands emerge from the river bed. From March until June these are the home of 'ultimate frisbee'. A trail leads down to Hat Don Chan Island from the end of Mahosot Road and you can see discs skimming the skyline until dark every Sunday. Pros and beginners are all welcome and for those not interested in the exercise or socializing it is a fine place to watch the blazing sun slide into the Mekong.
