Turton Tower

Description

This historic Lancashire country house dates from medieval times and is built in local stone and half-timbering. It has a 15th century tower house and folly additions that were made during the 19th century.

There is a fine collection of carved wooden furniture inside, with rooms furnished from the Tudor, Stuart and Victorian periods, while the gardens have been beautifully restored in late Victorian style. Guided tours are available and a seasonal programme of activities includes exhibitions, sculptures and outdoor theatre.
