Description
Aibonito, situated on the highest elevation point, is known as Puerto Rico's 'refrigerator' because of its cool climate that also promotes the growth of beautiful flowers for its Flower Festival. Aibonito's main industry is chicken and it produces most of the fresh chicken for the island. To celebrate this fact, once a year it holds a party and everyone is invited. The town has several restaurants that serve only chicken dishes. Give yourself plenty of time to get to the event; the drive from San Juan takes about two hours along the Luis Fere Expressway. Admission is free.
