Description

A recently opened outlet of the worldwide Tintin chain on the trendy part of Sanjo Street west of Teramachi. The store is located in the refurbished Taisho-era Sakura Bank building and the premises retain the old wood paneling and stairs from the original structure. The shop stocks everything connected with the world of Tintin, Captain Haddock, the Thompson Twins and Snowy--the comic creations of 1930s Belgian writer, Herge. There are the comic books themselves, plus the popular and ubiquitous T-shirts, games, postcards (JPY150), pens and bags. Herge may have been a bit of a European supremacist but his stories live on and continue to inspire a global vision in the young and old.
