Tifft Nature Preserve is a 264-acre habitat for environmental education and conservation. The Preserve features five miles of hiking trails, a self-guided nature and fitness trail, and a 75-acre freshwater cattail marsh. Man-made lakes attract wildlife throughout the year.

Wild plants and animals abound throughout the year. Birds, especially are attracted to its wetlands, near Lake Erie's coastline. The freshwater cattail marsh teems with wildlife during the summer. Tracks in snow give clues to animal behavior in winter.
