The RISD museum is a fantastic collection of chronological works. Its focus is on educating the visitor about the breadth of art history. From their ancient art collection, with pieces from Roman, Greek, and Egyptian culture to their contemporary art featuring many important artists including Andy Warhol and Cy Twombly. All media are explored in the museum's permanent collection, from painting and sculpture to prints, photos, decorative costumes and furniture. The RISD museum also represents world art, with pieces in its collection from Japan, China, and Persia to name a view a few.
