The State Fair of Texas (www.texfair.com) is held from mid-September through mid-October every year. I highly recommend it for anyone who is either visiting Dallas or who lives in the area. There are all sorts of things to do for people of all ages. There are concerts, livestock shows, demonstrations, exhibits, and (of course) food! One of the most popular areas is the Auto Show, where all of the new model year cars are displayed in a salesman-free environment. Admission is $8 or so for adults, and discount tickets are available at Kroger grocery stores. There are shuttle buses that run from DART stations, too. Wear your comfortable shoes, and come have a blast at the Fair!
