There are only two branches of this store in Glasgow, the Tesco Metro in the city centre, and a larger version out in Milngavie. They may be outnumbered by other supermarket chains but this is an essential stop for most people who work in the centre, as well as shoppers on their way home. All the usual everyday household products and foods are here, represented by the most popular brands and Tesco's excellent own-label goods. Freshly baked bread gives the store an enticing aroma, and the Danish pastries are particularly tasty. A fairly new idea is the gourmet section, which offers pre-packed ready meals and deli-type foods of a decidedly upmarket quality.
