Tennis in Vientiane is slowly gaining popularity, so the three cement courts can get busy, especially between 5-7pm weekdays and on Saturday and Sunday mornings. You can pre-book a court by going to the club during opening hours. At present there is no telephone. In the noon sun the courts provide little shade, but at least you are guaranteed a game while the locals are sleeping. Coaching is available, as is the hire of rackets and balls. Use of the court for one hour costs USD60 cents. Drinks and refreshments are available at the club and be warned--drink plenty of water!
