There is also a museum showing the ritual clothes, scrolls, and pictures of the ghetto that was demolished and Piazza della Repubblica was built in its place. Florence has 1000 Jews and before WWII there were 2500. There is a school and a kindergarden on the territory of the synagogue. Taking pictures is not allowed. When you pay for the ticket, you have to leave your camera there – you’ll get it back when you leave.
