Talaat Dongpalan

Description

Fruit stalls at the front of Dongpalan Market bustle with customers well into each evening, while from dusk, chickens are spit roasted at the roadside. The well lit and lively street is often lined with flower stalls selling traditional Lao spirit offerings.

The small main market, tucked behind the fruit stalls, is busiest in late afternoon. It houses fresh produce and meat stalls, and small grocery shops. Lao and Vietnamese cafes and stalls, selling take-away foods from spicy curries to fresh coconut fritters, attract customers throughout the day.
