Description
This magnificent grade-one listed building is the finest Palladian mansion in the region and was the home of the Leicester family from 1272 onwards. It was designed by John Carr of York and houses a superb collection of English paintings along with furniture and other family memorabilia.
There are guided tours available and knowledgeable stewards are always on-hand to talk about the history of the house, or if you prefer you can take a walk at your own pace in the surrounding parkland.
