Beale Street is probably one of the most famous locations in Memphis. It is home to the blues, and a true cultural experience. All down this infamous street you will find BBQ Restaurant after BBQ Restaurant, and Blues club after Blues club. It is a friendly scene. Very family oriented during the day, but it becomes a bit more adults only during the evening hours.
This is THE place to go in Memphis for blues, and there are almost always musicians playing out on the street, often in groups and through speakers. On this street you will find BB King's Restaurant "BB King's Blue's Club" along with the Hard Rock Cafe. (A note to vegetarians - this is not the place to try to get a meal. The only place I was able to find on the whole street that served anything vegetarian was the Hard Rock Cafe. They have a veggie burger.) There is also Wet Willie's, which is a fun Daiquiri bar. They have frozen daiquiri’s blending in canister's all along one of their walls. They are all different flavors, and the great thing about Beale Street is that you can take your drink down the street with you! This is a must see, although it may bore the little one's a bit.
