Description
Dr. Sun Yat Sen practiced medicine in Macau before turning his hand to revolution, and whilst working as a revolutionary, he used his home to store explosives. Bad idea! His home got blown to smithereens when the whole lot blew up by accident. Dr. Sun's son built the Memorial House, which replaced the ill-fated original, in 1918 as a monument to his father. Quite beautifully kept, the house features a mock-Moorish style with arched windows and doorways, high ceilings and colonnaded balconies. Housed inside are memorabilia of Dr. Sun, as well as of Chiang Kai-Shek.
