This little boutique is a bit difficult to find, but sells beautifully-made clothing fashioned out of fabric handwoven by an eco-smart group known as 'Weavers for the Environment.' This group promotes environmentally friendly methods of dyeing and weaving and features an apprenticeship program for young village girls to help maintain traditional techniques and provide a viable way of life outside major cities. You can also request any article of clothing to be custom-tailored out of exquisite silks or cottons. Patricia Cheesman, the owner of the studio, is available to give prearranged talks about traditional textiles and cultures of northern Thailand and Laos.
