Newcastle upon Tyne, England, United Kingdom
July 10, 2003
There is always a good selection of promo copies of new albums and singles and the range of vinyl is immense. There's even a section where, for £10.00 you can leave with as much vinyl as you can carry. Since the big chains have pretty much abandoned vinyl, this is heaven for vinyl junkies.
The store recently won the award for the best independent music retailer in the UK. Visit Steel Wheels and you'll soon see why. Noel Gallagher of Oasis was one person who did, declaring that he would definitely return on his next visit to Newcastle, having spent over £200 in the store. There is no musical snobbery from the staff - just friendly, helpful and knowledgable enthusiasts who will bend over backwards to help.
