Description
Macau's largest Catholic cemetery is almost slap bang in the middle of the peninsula. A quaint little green and white chapel, built in 1875, stands at its centre. Beautiful stained glass windows filter the bright daylight and add colour to the cool and dark interior. Outside, the cemetery is filled with ornately decorated tombs. The majority of headstones feature photographic portraits of the deceased, whilst carved stone angels and flowers are used to embellish almost every tomb, large or small.
