Southerness is a really fun course. Not too hard but very challenging. The scenery is fantastic. The holes are varied and the feel is not too stuffy. I also liked the fact that it had a lot of water which made some of the holes very interesting (particularly the par 3 number 16 which is a relatively long tee shot to a mostly surrounded green with little margin for error).
The closing holes are also perfect if your group has a friendly wager riding on the round as each hole is a gut-check in its own way.
