Six Flags Dairen Lake

Darian Lake six flags is a great attraction for all ages. Geared to those of an older age and full of roller coasters, this amusement park is a MUST-see if in the New York area.

If you strive for fast-paced action rides, then this park is for you. It is very close to Niagara Falls in Canada, where there are plenty of things to see.

The water park has a 10-gallon bucket that dumps it's contents at intervals throughout the day onto the spectators below.

Well, where to begin. I have to admit this park was definitely a disappointment. The rides themselves are not bad at all. In fact, they're very enjoyable. However, this park seriously needs to look at the people that it employs. Many times as my husband and I stood in line for all types of different rides, we took notice that teenagers were drinking beer in line, children were skipping the line, and the employees running that ride would just simply look the other way. The employees responsible for ensuring each passengers safety (double-checking to make sure your shoulder harness, lap bar, and other safety belts are securely fastened) would simply walk down and look at you and nod and that was that. This made both my husband and I very, very uncomfortable -- after all, you have to wonder that if the employees aren't checking the ride, what's to say that the engineers responsible for keeping the ride in good condition aren't doing the same. Until the evening when older, more adult employees started their shift and began enforcing rules, our visit to this park was disappointing. Not only were there problems with the ride attendants, but it seemed as if the park does not employ enough security officers and janitorial workers as the park was a mess by midday. Food leftovers, dirty diapers, and other sorts of trash could be found just about everywhere. All in all, as you can tell, I believe that until this park and its staff gets their act together, it is definitely a must NOT see.

The roller coasters are my favorite and Six Flag Darien Lake has five! Superman Ride of Steel, is a steel coaster that reaches the speed of 70 mph. There is a 208-foot hill that drops you into a mist at a 70-degree angle! Boomerang starts by lifting you straight up then dropping into loops and spirals, and then does it again backwards! Predator is a wooden coaster that has 12 drops! The Mind Eraser is a steel suspended looping coaster. Viper is a steel coaster that has five loops and a 75 ft drop!

Some of the other thrill rides include: Silver Bullet, an up-and-over spinning ride; Pirate, a swinging pirate ship; and Sleigh Ride, which goes up and down snowy hills. Get wet on Grizzly Run, a whitewater-canyon-like ride; Poland Springs Plunge, a log ride with two drops; and Shipwreck Falls, a 50-foot waterfall that causes a 20-foot wave.

The kiddy area is Looney Toons Seaport. It has 10 kiddy rides and children may be greeted by the Looney Toons characters. See Batman’s Thrill Spectacular and meet Batman after the show.

The water park has Hook's Lagoon, the kiddy area featuring Hook's Hideout, Tiger Lily Bay and SS Crocodile, with kiddy slides, water cannons, and much more. Crocodile Isle is a giant wave pool and Barracuda Bay has five water slides.
