In A.D. 19 many people immigrated to Thailand from the Sipsong Panna territory in Southeast China. The silver-making craft they began is still practiced in Thailand today, mostly by the hill-tribe people.

One of the most respected antique dealers in Chiang Mai, Sipsong Panna is one of the best places to see the products of the craft.
