Description
Imagine a chicken costing $50! This excessive price was demanded of Petersburg citizens during the Civil War. The largest siege of any American city took place here when, for ten months, Union troops relentlessly attacked to facilitate taking nearby Richmond. The subsequent conditions in Petersburg are explored at the Siege Museum.
The museum is located in the former commodities market and illustrates how residents lived before, during and after the War.
Admission; $3 Adults; $2 Children 6-11 and Seniors
