Shibden Hall

Shibden Hall is in a large parkland area with orienteering, pitch and putt, a boating lake and a miniature railway as well as walks and formal gardens near to the hall. This makes it particularly good as a family venue.

The house itself is said to have been started in the 15th century and parts of it are black and white but it has undergone many changes and the furniture, as well as the architecture, is representative of many periods.

Something that gives particular interest is the group of old workshops from different trades at the back of the hall together with different grades of workers' housing and an old bar - moved here and at one time where the Luddites plotted.
