Description
In honor of Moses receiving the Torah (five books of Moses) on Mount Sinai people stay up all night to study and pray; a dawn service follows that ends at sunrise. There is much ado about dairy desserts because the five books of Moses (Torah) are compared to milk, as something that gives life and nourishment. It is also a harvest festival and is celebrated by decorating homes and synagogues with flowers.
