Adelaide is the wine capital of Australia, and most of the top wines come from here. A visit to Barossa Valley would be a wine lover's haven. I visited two vineyards, but fell in love with the Kies vineyard, a family-owned one that carried wine that can only be purchased there and nowhere else. I especially loved the White Barossa, which was white wine with a very smooth flavour. I'm no wine connoisseur, but I do know a good wine when I taste it. Delivery is also available, and if you live within Australia, it barely cost anything to have the wines delivered to you.
Barrosa Valley is basically a whole valley of vineyards, and it takes about an hour. Once you're there, just keep driving; you'll pass one vineyard after another, so just choose which one you want to stop at. Be sure you're not driving if you intend to drink. Also, bring a cardigan or jacket if you're visiting during autumn or winter; it's colder up in the valley during these times. And if you get the chance, drive up to the "Lookout;" it's situated at a peak where you can view the whole valley and it looks like quilt laid on a big scale. Breathtaking!
