I'm a reflexologist, so I was very keen to visit Sedona, due to it being attributed as one of the energy centres of the world. From that point of view, I was disappointed, as it is very commercial and I didn’t feel one bit "spiritual," BUT the beauty and mystique of the striking red buttes and spires surrounding the small city made up for any spiritual disappointment. The shops are very expensive and sell very similar goods; one gets the feeling they may all be owned by one person.

We were staying in the Phoenix area but drove up to Sedona one day. The landscape seems to change so quickly in Arizona as you drive places as it is, but Sedona was amazing. One minute you are in a brown desert and the next everything is brick red with beautiful mountains around you. The day we were there, a huge rainstorm came in so we weren't able to walk around (HUGE raindrops...!) but just driving, it was beautiful. There seemed to be a lot to do. Desert tours in jeeps - they looked fun.
