Seaworld Fun

When our family recently took a trip to California my kids begged to go to the famous Sea World. So we did end up going! It is a great place for kids, adults, and teens to enjoy marine life. Okay so the price is pretty expensive, but its worth it! Tickets for kids 3-11 are $55 and people 10 and up are also $55. The main thing that most people will remember when they come to Sea World in San Diego are the interactive parts of the park. You can feed dolphins and pet them on the head. If you are going to participate in the feeding get there early. The line can get very long, and you can end up waiting for an hour to buy fish(like my family did) to feed the dolphins. Also, you will want to get a place around the feeding tank early because there is a limited amount of people who can actually get up close, feed, and touch the dolphins. Another interactive activity are the stingray feedings! You can actually touch and feed the stingrays(my kids REALLY enjoyed that)! There usually isn't a big long line to see the stingrays like the dolphins though. Another main attraction are the Shamu shows! Let me tell you they are a sight to see! If you are going to a Shamu show then I recommend trying to find a seat 20 minutes or so before the show starts. The reason for that is because the shows get PACKED. That's why my family and I had to sit in the "splash zone". They aren't kidding when they say that. We were soaked. My kids loved it, but me not so much. Obviously, the Seaworld in San Diego is definetely an awesome place to go.

Best Trip Ever!

We had the best time ever at Sea World San Diego as their VIP family of the day. My eight year old son thought the dolphin encounter was the best thing he had ever done and then we saw the Shamu show later and he thought that was the best thing he ever saw. To say the least this was a very memorable visit the pictures will be great for the memory book. A big thank you to Kayla and the rest of the wonderful workers at Sea World for making our family vacation one to remember!

Sea World- the Most Amazing Experience of My Life

When i went to Sea World i never knew that there was a ob so amazing. When i was watching the Shamu show Believe, i started to cry because it opened my eyes to an amazing creature an orca whale is. Now i know why Sea World calls it believe because it is made me want to be a trainer as soon as i saw the lok in the trainer's eyes and the smile on his face when he was prefoming. It was so beautiful that my stomach did a complete circle in my stomach. Now i joined the save the whales again foundation because of my love for whales and dolphins and the ocean. Not to mention all the other fun shows that sea world has to offer. Love ya Sea World and i hope that you choose me and my family for the "my Sea World Story".

Sea World

Fun in the sun with the grandkids. A day at seaworld. With all being under five it's a little limited on a lot of things but we had a great day. The shamu show, dolphins, and sea lion show are classic must-see (funny how they haven't changed a whole lot over the years). And they did enjoy the tide pools the most being able to touch things. The shark encounter was another matter, it is not the best for the smaller ones, they get a little spooked. But they did have fun at the kids playland with all the sand... better than the beach!

Sea World

If you have never heard of Sea World here is a quick synopsis. This Anheuser-Busch (Budweiser) owned aquatic theme park features a couple of rides and plenty of shows to keep you occupied for an entire day. Sea World is too large for me to describe each attraction so I will tell you about my favorites.

Journey to Atlantis – This "Water Coaster" is a unique ride to the Sea World parks. I have not seen this ride anywhere else. In short, this is a log flume ride that is on a coaster track. The ride takes you up eight stories and then twists and turns you down on a coaster track and then plunges you into a pool of water.

Wild Arctic – One of my favorites in Sea World. This ride/attraction takes you on a motion simulator helicopter ride into the "Wild Arctic". After escaping a "near death" crevasse plunge you land safely at the Base Station. This is where the attraction part of the ride comes in. Here you will see playful polar bears, walrus’, and beluga whales. All of these animals can be viewed in their underwater environment. If the "helicopter" part of the ride is not for you, don’t worry you can walk into the attraction to view the animals.

Believe: Shamu Show – This recently renovated show features Sea World’s most famous resident, Shamu – the killer whale. This show features the close relationship that the killer whales have with their trainers. The stage also features a huge 3 panel moving display screen. One of Shamu’s famous "tricks" is to take his tail, splash the water and get the audience drenched, so be careful if you are in the first 15 rows.

Anheuser-Busch Brewmaster’s Club – This is a new program that allows guests (over 21) to taste a flight of beer like a wine tasting. Even if you don’t like beer, I highly recommend trying this (yes, it is free!). You have three different flights to choose from. After I chose my flight I was given some cheese, fruit, and chocolate. Our server then explained which beer went best with each item on your plate. This was a fun and unique way to experience a beer tasting.

Park admission is around $56 for adults and children 10 and older and $46 for children ages 3 – 9. Admission for children under the age of 3 is free. A quick tip is to check the Internet. Sometimes Sea World has special admission prices via the web. I almost forgot to tell you that if you drive to Sea World (most people do) there is a charge to park your car - $10, but if you want to have Preferred Parking that will set you back $15. I can tell you fun is not free at Sea World (except a couple of beer samples). The hours of the park vary on the season and day of the week you are visiting.
