San Giuseppe

Description

This small Baroque church was built in 1681 by restructuring the previous complex of a church and convent that had been abandoned by the nuns of the Crucifix when they were transferred to Piazza Carlina. The facade, from the early 1900's, was designed by Giuseppe Ferrari d'Orsara.

The Latin cross interior has a hemispheric dome, and a single nave divided into two aisles, left from the convent layout.

The high altar has an altarpiece depicting the 'Death of St. Joseph' by Sebastiano Taricco. The altar on the left has a scene of the Crucifixion.
