Description
This is a small rural town, surrounded by beautiful countryside. The whole area, where the Rímac Valley narrows, has a huge influx of visitors from Lima every weekend. Here, beside the river, you can have a wonderful day out in the country and enjoy the delicious 'pachamancas' - a typical local dish (different meats cooked on the ground). If you enjoy eco-tourism, you can walk from here to the nearby Bosques de Zárate. There is a train which leaves every Sunday at 8am from the 'Estación de Desamparados' and returns at 6pm.
